Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan

Bill Davis Forbes Mentor Week

In “The Five Functions of Management,” Reilly, Minnick, and Baack (2011) wrote this about planning: “A well-executed plan may be one of the biggest time savers in business. The steps of planning take place under the banner of the firm’s overall statements about its direction and purpose” (p.30).

Do you have a project you are initiating and goals you would like to achieve? Do you feel you have the right plan and planning skills to create successful outcomes for yourself and others? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, the “Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan” model is something for you to consider. The model offers simple and practical steps to improve your effectiveness, efficiency, and results. It is easy to remember and apply, and people catch on to these steps very quickly. So once you understand the framework, you can apply it in almost any situation, show others your skills, lead by example, and create favorable results and outcomes.

In the above video, Bill Davis breaks down the steps of the “Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan” model.
