Popular Online Bachelor’s Degrees
In life, you make a lot of decisions — what to wear, what to eat, where to work — and sometimes your choices can seem overwhelming. That’s especially true when you’re choosing an online degree program. For the average person, their decision will factor greatly into their future career and income. With a buffet of choices available, you need to do detailed research to ensure the path you choose will be a benefit to you later in life.
Only you can make the decision, but here are four areas in which you’ll find a lot of opportunity once you leave school with your degree:
Health Care Administration
Because new health care regulations and advancements in technology are paired with a growing population in need of medical care, there is a strong call for people interested in health care administration. According to US News and World Report, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the need for health care administrators will increase through 2022. Students who enter a health care management program will study business management, but with a focus on health care. They learn about managing all aspects of a medical facility, including creating schedules, managing finances and working with medical staff.
Accounting degrees are usually offered as associate’s and bachelor's programs, with some master's options available. If you choose to pursue an accounting degree, you will complete coursework in federal and state tax laws and regulations, investments and bookkeeping, plus many other necessary skills. Accounting is also a fast-growing field, which bodes well for students pursuing these programs.
If you enjoy working with children, or you like helping adults learn something new, you may consider an online degree in education. Degrees and certificates cover a wide range of studies, and many students who obtain bachelor’s degrees return to school for a master's or doctorate.
Choosing to pursue psychology can be an excellent move if you are passionate about knowing how people think, finding out what motivates them, and helping them overcome fears and other dilemmas. Degrees in psychology are offered at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate levels. Psychology also exposes you to a variety of career paths in fields that include criminal justice and human resources.
Of course, these are just a few of literally dozens of degrees you may decide to pursue. For help getting started, read “Choosing the Best Degree for You” on Forward Thinking.
