Ashford Students and Alum Share Inspiring 2020 Goals

Ashford Students and Alum Share Inspiring 2020 Goals

2020. This number represents the coming new year, but it’s also about vision. And our students and alum have got it.

Each year, we take part in the time-honored tradition of celebrating the Ashford community’s goals and aspirations for the coming 365 days. And this time is no different.

We recently posted in our Ashford Connections Facebook group the question:

“What are your thoughts on 2019, and what are your resolutions heading into 2020?”

Here, we present some of the most inspiring and hopeful responses shared so far. Read on, and get inspired for the year ahead!

1. Lori M.:

“My thoughts for 2019 were that I graduated in June 2019 with my Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies. My resolution for 2020 is, as of January 7, 2020, I start classes for my Master of Arts in Education.”

2. Tina E.:

“I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science, and for 2020, I’m just looking forward to seeing what it may bring.”

3. Tim B.:

“2019 was a success academically, as will be 2020. The key to staying motivated will be a priority on daily self-care.”

4. Alisson A.:

“This is my first year at Ashford, and so far, I’m doing great. I’m looking forward to making 2020 a year of continuous learning.”

5. Miz Ladie R.:

“I graduated with my sis May 2019. We both received BAs in different fields. We are both currently enrolled in a master’s program in our different fields.”

6. Elanie N.:

“Graduated January 2019 with my B.A. in Psychology. June 2020 is goal for Master’s!”

7. Frankie T.:

“My goal is to finish strong in 2019 on my way to obtaining my master’s degree in human resource management in August of 2020.”

8.  Petrea H. K.:

“2019 was a very difficult year as I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and continue to work toward my BA. I hope this next year won’t be so stressful or overwhelming.”

9. Jen F.:

“My thought for 2019 was to get my master’s degree done. I had a few setbacks but I’m on track. For 2020, resolutions will be to find a job where I can use my degree.”

10. Mel C.:

“I am on track to graduate from Ashford in 2020 with a Master of Arts in Organizational Management with a specialization in organizational leadership! I can’t wait to see what the future holds!”

11. Alicia C.:

“2019 was a strong and steady year of learning and growing for me. I am enjoying the journey and am focused to work hard and have 2020 be the year I graduate with my bachelor’s degree in organizational management and a minor in psychology.”

12. Greg B.:

“I’m a grad student getting my MBA! Set to graduate in March 2021!! This will help further my career!”

13. Camilo G.:

“Organizing and planning the days to accommodate a full-time work/school/social life schedule is essential. I’ve taken two week-long academic leaves concurrently with my PTO this past year and it has been one of the best decisions. Take time to reset and relax.”

Thank you to all the students and alumni who shared their thoughts on the coming new year. And good luck to all of you who are working toward your 2020 goals.
