Biography

Dr. Chris Sorensen is the Program Chair for the Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology in the College of Education at Ashford University. He earned his PhD from University of South Florida (USF) in the area of Instructional Technology. Prior to earning his PhD, Dr. Sorensen earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from USF and his MAT from Florida Southern College. He joined Ashford University to teach in the Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology program due to his belief that technology has the ability to engage learners, making them more active participants in the teaching and learning process, and because he enjoys the ability to teach online and reach a broad audience. Dr. Sorensen also maintains that all individuals have the ability to learn, and that learning is a life-long process. “One of my favorite things about being in the field of education is helping others to acquire new knowledge and skills.” Dr. Sorensen lives in Florida and enjoys spending time at Disney theme parks.
