Dr. Nanette (Sheri) Schonleber is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Ashford University. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology with a focus on Culture, Learning, and Development from the University of Hawai῾i at Mānoa, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Chaminade University of Honolulu, and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies/Elementary Education from San Francisco State University. Dr. Schonleber has over 30 years of experience working as an early childhood teacher and school director, early intervention specialist, and university professor. Her professional focus is on early childhood education, the role of culture in learning and development, and curriculum studies. She says, “I love working with students and seeing them achieve their goals and dreams. Finishing school is all about persistence. When times get hard, the number one tip I give my students comes from my favorite Winston Churchill quote: Never, never, never give up.” Dr. Schonleber and her husband relocated from Hawaii to Carlsbad, CA in 2011. They have two adult children.
