Biography

Dr. Stefanie Lassitter is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Ashford University. She received a Doctor of Education in Teaching and Learning with a concentration in Higher Education from Argosy University, a Master’s degree in English from Eastern Michigan University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Grand Valley State University. Dr. Lassitter believes her teaching philosophy has evolved during her many years as an educator from instructor-centered teaching to student-centered learning. She says, “I have a dual role as both an educator and a lifelong learner in that the instructional practices that I use today will most likely transition with the changing needs of our students.” Dr. Lassitter resides in Michigan with her husband Marc and their two sons, Elliot and Ethan.
