Dr. Tisha Shipley is the Program Chair for the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education in the College of Education at Ashford University. She received a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Northcentral University, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education/ Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU), and a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from NWOSU. Dr. Shipley was on faculty at NWOSU, where she taught all of the Early Childhood Education courses in her position as the Early Childhood Coordinator. She has taught multiple grade levels at Moore Public Schools (MPS), including pre-K children and gifted 3rd-6th graders, and served as a cheer sponsor and a principal for MPS. Most recently, Dr. Shipley served as Director of Pre-School Programs at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Here at Ashford, she is eager to work with aspiring teacher candidates who are excited about making a difference in young children’s lives. She says, “Online colleges afford everyone the opportunity to receive an education, and an education is something no one can take away from you. Education will take you far in life. Incoming students: get to know your professors, ask for help, make friends, and work hard. Most importantly, love what you do! Everyone should love what they choose for their profession.” Dr. Shipley lives in Oklahoma City, OK and enjoys spending time with her family, decorating, re-doing old furniture, and watching her brother play basketball.
