Do something every day that moves you towards completing your degree, whether you spend five minutes or five hours, do something!
Dean of Accreditation, Practicums, & Special Projects
Dr. Tami Beaty has worked in education for over 20 years and has served in a variety of capacities such as admissions, advising, and academics. This variety has given her a broad perspective in how all the divisions of the University work together to support a positive student experience.
Dr. Beaty herself was a non-traditional student, returning to college while her children were young. She slowly but surely earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees then later returned to school to earn her Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University. Having this experience gives Dr. Beaty empathy and understanding for students who are juggling their studies, work, and family. The lesson Dr. Beaty learned along the way and often shares with her students to help them be successful is to “do something every day that moves you towards completing your degree, whether you spend five minutes or five hours, do something.”
Dr. Beaty volunteers her time in a variety of capacities including supporting an organization which provides safe housing and supportive services to sex trafficking survivors, and with another organization that helps women overcome results of past trauma to pursue their personal and professional growth and development. Additionally, she volunteers for Colorado State Parks to ensure others have an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful state of Colorado, its wildlife, flora, and plethora of outdoor activities.
Dr. Beaty lives in Denver and enjoys spending time outdoors with her camera. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, grown children and their spouses, and of course, her grandchildren.
