Dr. Adam Selhorst, originally of Columbus, OH, is the Executive Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. He came to Ashford University in 2012, as the Program Chair for Environmental Studies, and with a unique background in environmental science, public policy, and business. He holds his BA in Biology from Kenyon College, an MA in Public Policy and Management from Ohio State University’s John Glenn School, an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Ashford University’s Forbes School of Business®, and an MS and PhD in Environmental Science from Ohio State University. Dr. Selhorst’s previous research has focused on urbanization and agriculture and their affects on global climate change. He has held fellowships with the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Manoa, HI and the National Science Foundation; has been a lecturer in Biology at Leeward Community College in Pearl City, HI; and has been published in scientific journals and books. His most recent work appears in the Encyclopedia of Soil Science, and his robust list of conferences includes an appearance at The 11th International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic & Social Sustainability in Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr. Selhorst lives in San Diego, CA with his chocolate lab, Einstein, and is an avid triathlete, pianist, guitarist, and freelance photographer.
