Biography

Dr. Rob Engelson is a Professor of Practice in Ashford University’s College of Liberal Arts. His degrees include a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Choral Music from Arizona State University, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music Education and German from Augsburg College. He is a semi-professional actor, having performed in 19 shows at the Clinton Area Showboat Theater, a professional summer theater company located in Clinton, IA. A full-time college and university professor for 35 years and a 21-year member of the Ashford Campus faculty in Clinton, Dr. Engelson currently teaches a wide array of interdisciplinary courses in the curriculum of the Liberal Arts major. His words of wisdom to students: “Jump in with both feet, get to know as many of the faculty as you can, and always turn your work in on time!”
