Biography

Ted Ellis is an Assistant Professor in the field of Criminal Justice at Ashford University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in history from Northwest Nazarene College, a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Idaho, and a Master of Science (MS) in criminal justice with a concentration in analysis of criminal behavior from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently pursuing a PhD through the University of Southern Mississippi and intends to focus on political development and security studies in domestic and international contexts. His interests include theoretical frameworks for law and justice and related policies in international development. Prior to joining the faculty at Ashford University, Ted worked as an attorney for several years. He is passionate about teaching and seeks to inspire students to approach current justice system issues and challenges with informed and critical perspectives. He and his wife enjoy reading and spending time together with their toddler son.
