Biography

Dr. Donald G. Platine is an Assistant Professor in the Forbes School of Business at Ashford University. He received his Doctor of Education in Research and Evaluation from University of Tulsa, his Master’s degree in Business from University of Northern Colorado, and his Bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Platine worked for five years as a quality manager for Thiokol Space Operations and for seven years with Anheuser-Busch, where he formalized the career development department and created programs and procedures to improve career mobility within the company. He also worked for seven years with First National Bank of Tulsa and three years with National Bank of Detroit. In 1994, Dr. Platine served as an examiner for the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. His courses at Ashford focus on research methods, statistics, operations, and project planning. He enjoys helping his students master new information and says, “Working with adult learners all my life has emphasized the need for educational activities to relate to real world issues and concerns. We, as educators, cannot just present ideas that have no relationship to real life. One of my favorite things about teaching is when I get to see my students apply what they’ve learned in class to real world situations.”
