Erika O’Quinn is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business and Professional Studies at Ashford University. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in Norman, OK, and a Bachelor of Science from Langston University in Langston, OK. She studied abroad during the summer of 1992 and also lived with a family in Antigua, Guatemala for 3 months studying Spanish. Her professional experience includes practicing family law, entertainment law, some misdemeanor criminal law, and working with abused and neglected children. She first heard about Ashford University when her niece graduated from the institution and spoke highly of it. As a professor, O’Quinn does the same. “Ashford University allows instructors the freedom to contribute greatly to student success. This includes the development of our own instructor guidance, assisting with the development of grading rubrics, and independence with grading decisions.” She advises her students to persevere, never give up, and always ask for help. “At Ashford University, our instructors and administrators are committed to student success. I am always available for my students.” Originally from Chicago, IL, O’Quinn currently resides in Atlanta, GA and has two sons and one daughter.
