Dr. Holland is the Program Chair–Cyber & Data Security Technology and Associate Professor at the Forbes School of Business and Technology at Ashford. Dr. Holland has more than 25 years of experience in the IT field in the public and private sectors and have worked for organizations such as Verizon Communications and Leidos. Since 2011, she has been involved in academics teaching at the University of Phoenix and other local career colleges.
In 2015, Dr. Holland was awarded a Ph.D. in Information Technology with a specialization in Information Security from Capella University. Her dissertation topic focused on the privacy issues associated with data collection as required by federal regulations. In 2004, Dr. Holland received a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems Management, specializing in Database Systems Technologies from University of Maryland University of College. Her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems was received from Strayer University. Even though her formal education is complete, she considers herself to be a life-long learner.
Dr. Holland is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and was recently voted to be on the Board of Directors for the local ISC2 San Diego chapter as Training Director. Dr. Holland is also a member of the local OWASP chapter, ISSA, ISACA, and IEEE, and volunteers for Protecting Tomorrow, SoCal Cyber Challenge, and UCSD-SM Women’s Hackathon. In her free time, along with crafting, sewing, and quilting, she sews kennel quilts for animal shelters located throughout the United States that have been affected by some type of disaster.
