Biography

Dr. Gina Hernez-Broome, PhD, is program chair of the Master of Arts in Leadership Program for the Forbes School of Business & Technology™ at Ashford University. Previously she taught courses in leadership, executive coaching, and human resources at University of the Rockies. During her 10-year tenure with University of the Rockies, she also served on the University’s Board of Trustees and as dean for the Organizational Leadership Program. Prior to her work for University of the Rockies, Gina spent 13 years at the Center for Creative Leadership where she was Program Manager for the Design and Delivery Faculty team and lead researcher for the Center’s coaching research and evaluation efforts. For over 25 years, she has worked as a consultant, trainer, and executive coach in the areas of leadership development, organization effectiveness, assessment development, and training. 

Dr. Hernez-Broome earned her doctoral and master's degrees in industrial/organizational psychology from Colorado State University. She has written dozens of papers, presentations and publications on the professional topics of leadership development, coaching/employee engagement, and organization transformation. She has presented her work at a variety of conferences, including those sponsored by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, American Psychological Association, Academy of Management, and the International Coaching Federation. She also was editor of the book “Advancing Executive Coaching: Setting the Course for Successful Leadership Coaching.”

Gina lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her husband, Jim. They have two grown daughters, Rachel and Hannah, and a beautiful granddaughter, Leela. Gina loves all that Colorado has to offer, especially going to her cabin in the mountains where she enjoys ATVing and hanging out on the back deck taking in the solitude and beauty of the mountains.
