Biography

Lisa Sims is an Assistant Professor in the Forbes School of Business & Technology at Ashford University. She earned a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. Before joining Ashford as a full-time assistant professor, Lisa worked in the private sector in various industries as well as the public sector in various software development roles for over 20 years as well as worked as an independent technology consultant for her own technology consulting company. In addition, Lisa has taught part-time at seven online universities over the past ten years. Her areas of expertise include web and mobile development, project management, ecommerce, system analysis and design, software development, search engine optimization, and Internet marketing. Lisa is passionate about education and online learning because she was once an online learner and understands the work/life struggles that many of today’s students encounter. She enjoys reading, writing personal finance and inspirational books, couponing, podcasting, volunteering at her church and in her community, saving money, and spending time with her family. Lisa resides in Conyers, Georgia with her husband and two sons.
