Dr. Rowley is lead faculty in the Humanities & Science department that is part of the Division of General Education at Ashford University. She earned her MA/PhD in Sociology from University of Pittsburgh. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Penn State University. Dr. Rowley has taught classes about social sciences and multicultural education since 1993. She came to Ashford University in 2007 to teach courses in sociology, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, and applied behavioral sciences. She appreciates the constructivist model that engages Ashford learners as active participants in the knowledge construction process and frequently draws upon personal and professional experiences to enrich course room guidance and discussions. When not teaching, Dr. Rowley enjoys a variety of activities related to health, wellness, and fitness.
