She holds a Master of Arts in Literacy and Language Arts from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Chapman University in Orange, CA. She has taught students ranging from pre-K to adult in public and private educational settings, and has experience working with students with different types of special needs. She joined Ashford in 2009, where she served as an Instructional Specialist, an Associate Faculty member, and the Academic Program Manager for the College of Health, Human Services, and Science before becoming a full-time Instructor. Hailwood believes that all individuals should have access to a high quality education. “I really enjoy working with Ashford’s population of non-traditional adult students. These students have so much life experience to share that I find that they continually inspire me. I also work with a great group of professionals. Their enthusiasm and drive constantly challenges me to improve as an educator.” She lives in San Diego with her husband, who is a talented middle school social studies teacher, and their very spoiled little beagle.
