Biography

Holly Heatley is lead faculty in the Communication Arts Department that is part of the Division of General Education at Ashford University. She earned a Master of Library Science from the University of North Texas in 2010 and holds two degrees from the University of Texas-Arlington: a Master of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Past experience includes positions as a research assistant for a Civil War museum and as an academic advisor for a large state university. She began instructing at Ashford in the beginning of 2009 and primarily teaches Information Literacy. Drawing on her education in Library Science, she emphasizes research and information literacy skills as well as historical knowledge in her courses. She enjoys getting to know students from varied backgrounds and locales, saying, “I value the hard work and determination that Ashford students exhibit even as so many of them balance school with work and family. I particularly appreciate working for such a dynamic institution with so much potential for growth.” Heatley resides in North Central Texas with her daughter and a full complement of pets.
