Nate Pritts, PhD
Dr. Nate Pritts is an Associate Professor and lead faculty in the Communication Arts department that is part of the Division of General Education at Ashford University. He holds a PhD in Writing with a specialization in British Romanticism from the University of Louisiana, a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Warren Wilson College, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Film from the State University of New York. Dr. Pritts has taught learners of all ages using a variety of methods, including Blackboard, Moodle, and Desire2Learn, eCollege and Canvas among others. He enjoys how online learning allows for the intersection of creativity and technology, and says, “I like the possibilities inherent in preserving the old ways that work while integrating some of the new technologies and collaborative potentials. Working with Ashford allows me to break down some of the barriers that exist and connect with students from all over the world.” Dr. Pritts is also the author of eight books of poetry, including The Wonderfull Yeare, Post Human, and Decoherence, which won the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award and was published by Indiana University. His creative work, and essays about creativity, teaching, and learning have been published in American Poetry Review, Poets & Writers, Writers Digest and many other places.
