Online Psychology Degrees

If you are passionate about human behavior and the mind and are looking for a flexible education to help expand your career options, then consider pursuing an online degree in psychology from Ashford University. The flexibility of an online psychology degree lets learners balance their education with their professional and personal responsibilities, without needing to relocate to a traditional brick-and-mortar campus. These psychology courses are five or six weeks long* and can be taken one class at a time, 100% online. Some students will utilize their bachelor's degree as a foundation for pursuing a graduate degree in psychology or other disciplines, while others may use their degree learnings to enter the workforce in areas that involve human interaction. A career that requires analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and deep social awareness is often a great fit for psychology degree graduates.

What is a Psychology Degree?

By definition, psychology is the scientific study of human behavior and the human mind. It’s an academic discipline of immense scope that encompasses many different elements. An undergraduate psychology degree prepares students to enter the field of psychology by helping them develop knowledge of human behavior, research, writing, and statistical analysis, while a graduate level degree can prepare students to pursue more academic and research-oriented careers.

Our online Bachelor of Arts in Psychology lays a broad foundation to give you a wide-ranging understanding of the primary aspects of psychology with the option to focus on a specific topic such as cognitive studies or public administration by adding an emphasis. You will obtain a robust background in psychology and receive a better understanding of how human behavior impacts the dynamics of a business or organization that can be very valuable to not just psychology-related organizations but to any business. Psychology related careers don’t all require a graduate level degree, but it can be a valuable asset if you want to take your career even further. A graduate level degree, such as a master’s or a doctorate in psychology, will position you to take on more research knowledge and integrate this psychological research into everyday applications. Similar to the bachelor’s program, our online master’s degree and our PsyD cover psychological foundations, but go into additional detail to ensure you are prepared to take on more complex roles with additional responsibilities. A graduate level psychology degree provides an in-depth exploration of the discipline. More specifically, a PsyD provides the necessary background on theories and skills needed in order to carry out research, tests, treatment, and reports.
