No Excuses University Scholarship Deadlines Extended
If you are a teacher in the No Excuses University (NEU) network of schools or if you are a parent or guardian in NEU network and are interested in opportunities to help fund your education, there are two scholarship opportunities that might spark your interest. The deadlines for the NEU Teacher Scholarship and the NEU Parent Scholarship have been extended to April 30, 2019.
NEU Teacher Scholarship
As part of its commitment to supporting NEU teachers in the enhancement of their practices and careers, the College of Education at Ashford University offers one full scholarship to a teacher in the NEU network of schools. A committee composed of College of Education administration and faculty members will evaluate each submission and determine the recipient. The scholarship will be applied to the tuition and technology fees for one of the following graduate degrees*:
- Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction
- Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education Leadership
- Master of Arts in Education
- Master of Arts in Special Education
- Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology
- Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology
NEU Parent Scholarship
The College of Education at Ashford University also offers a parent or guardian in the NEU network of schools a chance to further their education with the NEU Parent Scholarship. A committee composed of College of Education administration and faculty members will evaluate each submission and determine the recipient. The scholarship will be applied to the tuition and technology fees for any undergraduate degree* offered by Ashford University.
Applicants must submit a complete application and verification letter from the principal at their child’s school by April 30, 2019. Review the terms and conditions and submit your application before the deadline.
Business Scholarship Opportunities
Each year, Ashford University's Forbes School of Business & Technology offers two scholarships: the Entrepreneurship Scholarship and the Senior Project Scholarship. Each is for $5,000.00 to use toward future tuition charges at Ashford University. Applications require minimal paperwork and are easy to complete.
Students, alumni, and prospective Ashford University students can apply for the Entrepreneurship Scholarship several times throughout the year. The first entry period has already closed, but there are two more chances to enter in 2019. The second entry period began April 1 and runs through June 1, 2019. The final entry period runs from September 1 to November 1.
As part of the process, applicants must present a brief business plan that will be reviewed by a committee of faculty members. The committee will select one recipient based on the most compelling application, an applicant’s current and/or new business, and its potential impact on the economy. The plan must be original and solely owned by the applicant and should not have been previously distributed publicly or have won any award. It also should not contain any material that would violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party and should not contain any material that Ashford, in their discretion, deems inappropriate for public viewing. Entries should be proofread before submittal to ensure the ideas are clear and concise. There are some additional official rules to follow, so be sure to read them first before applying.
The deadline for the second entry period is approaching, so get your business ideas flowing, and apply today. The Entrepreneurship Scholarship recipient will be notified with a scholarship award letter within 90 days of the close of the entry period.
The Senior Project Scholarship is awarded each year to up to five recipients who will be selected by a scholarship committee comprised of faculty and Forbes Media leadership. There is one scholarship period that runs from January 1, 2019, through October 31, 2019. The award is $5,000 and is split into two equal awards of $2,500 each. This scholarship may only be applied toward future tuition costs in any master’s degree program offered through the Forbes School of Business & Technology.
To qualify, applicants must submit their business program’s capstone course final assignment. In addition, students should write a clear and concise letter that details their reason for seeking a master’s degree in business. The essay (including the copyright in the essay) must be original, owned, and created by the applicant, and previously should not have been distributed publicly or have received any award. It also should not contain any material that would violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party and should not include material that Ashford, in their discretion, deems inappropriate for public viewing. There are additional rules, so it’s important to review them before submitting an entry.
The deadline for the Senior Project Scholarship will be here before you know it, so apply soon.
Ashford University offers several scholarships to help with financing your education. Find out which one is right for you, mark your calendar, and apply during the entry period.
