Twice a year, graduating students and their families are invited to attend Ashford University commencement festivities in San Diego. Explore the city, take part in our pre-commencement celebration activities, and join your fellow graduates as you complete this chapter of your life and start a new journey.
- The Spring 2019 Graduation Celebration will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Location: Ashford’s San Diego Campus
8620 Spectrum Center Blvd, San Diego, CA 92123
Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- The Spring 2019 Alumni Networking Reception will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Location: Parq Event Center
615 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101
Time: 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
- The Spring 2019 Commencement Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Location: Viejas Arena - San Diego State University,
5500 Canyon Crest Dr, San Diego, CA 92182
Time: 8 am - Check in
9 am - Hooding ceremony (prior to entering the arena)
9:30 am – Procession
10 am - Ceremony begins
~ 12:30 pm - Conclusion

Ashford University’s commencement ceremonies are streamed live to students and families around the world.
Graduation Ceremony FAQ's
The eligibility requirements for commencement participation are as follows:
Spring ceremony: Grad date is between January 1 and June 30
Fall ceremony: Grad date is between July 1 and December 31
The Fall 2019 ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2019. The event will take place at Viejas Arena located at 5500 Canyon Crest Dr., San Diego, CA 92182.
Please allow at least 20 minutes to walk to the arena from any parking area east of College Avenue. Please note that parking will be $20 cash only.
From east of College Avenue: Take I-8 west to College Avenue, then proceed south on College Avenue. At the first intersection of College/Alvarado Road, turn right onto Canyon Crest Drive, then west to Parking Structure 12.
From south of Montezuma Road: Take Route 94 or another east/west route to College Avenue north, then left on Montezuma Road, then right on 55th Street to Parking Structure 7.
From west of College Avenue: Take I-8 to College Avenue south, then right on Canyon Crest Drive to Parking Structure 12.
Alternate Route: Take I-8 to Fairmount Avenue, east on Montezuma Road to 55th Street, then left on 55th Street to Parking Structure 7.
