Can’t Find What You Need In the Library?
If your search comes up empty, you can always ask a librarian to assist you with Interlibrary Loan Services. This service allows you to obtain articles and other documents that are not currently in the Ashford Library's electronic collections.
In addition to helping you navigate the Library database, Ashford University offers a number of helpful tools for students.
You can get live instruction from an Ashford librarian by attending one of the library webinars offered throughout the month. Topics include an orientation to the library, basic and advanced research skills, using keywords in your search, and organizing your research. You can see the schedule and upcoming topics on the library website. To join and participate in a webinar, click the link on the library homepage at the time of the webinar. Recordings are also available on the library website for students who are unable to attend a webinar live.
The Ashford librarians have created tutorials that can help students learn to research more effectively. Learn how to use library databases, identify scholarly articles, find articles for your assignments, and more. Accessible whenever you need them, these videos, learning modules, and tip sheets are available on the library website.
Prepared by Ashford librarians, these guides provide recommendations of useful research resources both in the library’s collection and on the web, based on your area of research or sometimes your specific course. Guides can provide helpful tips that can make your research easier and provide support for starting your research.
