S.T.A.R. Volunteer Program
Ashford’s First Virtual STAR event is underway! No matter where you are, you can participate!
According to www.SoldiersAngels.org, one of the items that is most requested from service members and veterans is socks! Do you want to make a difference but struggle to find time to volunteer? This is your chance! Participate in Ashford’s first Virtual STAR Event by donating a pair of new socks to a veteran’s charity of your choice. Be sure to share a photo of you and your socks with the hashtag, #AUSTAR, to social media. If you have trouble locating a local charity, you can mail your donation to Soldier’s Angels at the following address.
Warm Feet for Warriors

Donations can be sent up until June 14th.
“Never before has man had such a great capacity to control his own environment, to end hunger, poverty and disease, to banish illiteracy and human misery. We have the power to make the best generation of mankind in the history of the world.”
- President John F. Kennedy
The world is your campus and it presents your opportunity to impact change. Every student, faculty member, and administrator can make a positive difference in the community. Volunteering is a vital piece of your educational experience that will help you improve your critical thinking and give you an opportunity to learn new skills. Volunteering might even prompt you to explore career options you may not have considered.
Ashford University's Sharing Time And Resources or S.T.A.R. Program provides you with the opportunity to give back to your communities through volunteering and service.
S.T.A.R. events are hosted at locations across the nation at local non-profits and other venues. Students and alumni receive invitations to these events if they reside near the geographic location of a scheduled event.
